Help me change the oil on a 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 (W211).?
I don't have a Topsider and want to drain the oil instead.
1. Do I have to remove both plastic guards/skid plate/splash guards or can I just remove the forward most one to reach the drain plug.
2. Where is the drain plug?
3. The car doesn't have an oil dipstick. Instead, the car electronically measures the oil level. Is there a port to use a Topsider or similar vacuum oil extractor device?
Yes, you have to remove the engine under panel to drain the oil from the bottom. The plug is in the oil pan. If you want to suck out the oil like they do at the dealers, it's done through the dipstick tube ( you're right, it does not have a dipstick but the tube is still there ).
The car will use 8 litres by the way. Also, don't forget to replace all the seals on the filter housing and make sure the filter cartridge is snug up against the top of the filter housing. If it is not, it won't seal properly.
