Got a 16ft boat with 80hp mercury outboard. how do i fill it up with gas? do u mix the oil and gas together?
I dont think the motor is oil injected so i was told you have to do the oil gas mixture. its 50 to 1. can somebody explain it to me as basic as possible? thank you.
You add the oil to the gas in the correct ratio of 50-1.
The absolute best way to do this is buy a measuring bottle from Wall-mart- it will have lines that you fill the oil to so it will be correct- for instance, if you put 6 gallons of gas in your tank, you fill the bottle with oil to the 6 gallon mark and then put it in your tank- if you put 10 gallons or 3 gallons you just fill the bottle to the correct line for the amount of gas that you bought and add the oil to your tank- it is precise and there is no guessing involved- the measuring bottle only cost about 2 bucks. You need to get one!
