What are the pros and cons to an inboard/Outboard Motor vs a regular outboard motor?
I am looking to purchase a ski/fish boat, and was wondering what type of motor would be best, and why.
that is mainly a matter of choice . the outboard puts more load strain on the transome of the boat and is easier to have stolen . the I/O is more solid and safer in these aspects and with the proper care last just as long if not longer than the outboards. As for power............you can get 350hp outboards
and you can get 500hp I/O units........as for maintenance.......change the oil........plugs...........store it properly ...........drain all water so it dosen't crack in a freeze.....thier about the same overall..............
It basically boils down to what you want your boat to have and can afford.
